Brigetta Delgado-Emmel was born to Medardo (Leonard) Delgado and Kathleen Delgado in Olympia, Washington on March 1, 1976, and passed away July 24, 2022, while visiting a farm near Royal City, Washington. A funeral Mass will be held on Aug. 24, 2022, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Road, Moses Lake Washington. Service will begin with the Rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m. and the Mass beginning at 12 noon. In addition, a Memorial Service will be held on Aug. 26, 2022, at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 205 Second Ave. N., Seattle Washington where she was a cantor for the Sunday night Mass.

Brigetta attended St. Rose of Lima School in Ephrata, Washington and Assumption Catholic School in Bellingham, Washington. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1994 and attended college at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington where she studied music, logic and philosophy.

Brigetta loved to travel and her early work in the hospitality industry in Seattle allowed her to work throughout the United States including Boston, Massachusetts, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. She loved to learn about different cultures and spent a month traveling through Spain where she made long lasting friendships with travelers she met along the way. Later she and her husband Chris, traveled to England, Wales, France and finally Germany (to celebrate Octoberfest) on their first anniversary.

Also important to Brigetta was the rescue of mistreated animals. She rescued three dogs of her own at various phases in her life. At the time of her death, she worked for Metro Dog in Seattle and was studying to be a dog trainer. She was a strong advocate for Old Dog Haven in western Washington and for Adams County Pet Rescue in Othello, Washington.

Brigetta was a beautiful warm and vibrant woman who had a positive, caring energy about her. She respected the dignity of all with whom she came in contact. She had friends from all nationalities and all social stratums, and was always there for them in times of need. She cared. She had the ability to make people feel comfortable, respected and most importantly, heard. She will be sadly missed by many here, yet we know she is now with her loving God.

Brigetta is survived by her husband Chris Emmel, mother Kathleen Russell Delgado, brother Andres (Misty) and twin brother Gabril, sister Amy Edelen, mother-in-law Carol Emmel, father-in-law Ron (Ellen) Emmel, brothers-in-law Steve and Greg (Cara), sister-in-law Diane (Garrett) Gilreath and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
