WCC announces men’s basketball conference schedule
SAN MATEO, CALIF. – The West Coast Conference announced its 2022-23 men’s basketball conference games schedule on Tuesday, which will be held over a nine-week period spanning from December 31 through February 25.
Gonzaga will look to keep its dominance in the WCC, having won outright or a share of the previous 10 WCC regular season titles. The Bulldogs have shared or won 21 of the previous 22 and 23 of the previous 25 WCC conference championships.
The first matchup of conference play will be against Pepperdine in Spokane. Following the opener, the Zags will begin a three-game road trip to San Francisco (Jan. 5), Santa Clara (Jan. 7) and BYU (Jan. 12). Back at home, the Bulldogs will have a two-game home stand against Portland (Jan. 14) and Loyola Marymount (Jan. 19). The final two games of January will be road trips to Pacific (Jan. 21) and Portland (Jan. 28).
Gonzaga will begin February with a home matchup against Santa Clara (Feb. 2) and a road trip to Saint Mary’s (Feb. 4), which was the lone team to defeat the Bulldogs in conference play a year ago. Back at home, the Bulldogs will play two games against San Francisco (Feb. 9) and BYU (Feb. 11). The final road stretch begins with a trip to Los Angeles to face Loyola Marymount (Feb. 16) and to Malibu to play Pepperdine (Feb. 18). With the final two conference games, the Zags will be at home to play San Diego (Feb. 23) and Saint Mary’s (Feb. 25).
The WCC Championships will begin on March 2 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, with the winner punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament in March.
