Cougars track team set for first home meet of the outdoor season
PULLMAN — The Washington State men's and women's track and field teams will compete for the first time at the Mooberry Track and Field Complex since 2018, as the Cougars take on the University of Washington in the WSU-UW Dual Friday, April 22, as part of the Boeing Apple Cup Series.
This will be the 102nd edition of the WSU-UW Dual on the men's side, while it will be the 42nd time that the Cougar and Husky women's programs have squared off. Friday's meet will serve as the first NCAA track and field meet to be held at the Mooberry Track and Field Complex since the 2018 WSU-UW Dual.
WSU is ready to get back on track in the WSU-UW Dual after losing the last two meets to the Huskies. On the men's side, the Cougars lead the series 59-41-1, while UW leads the women's series 23-18. The last time the Cougars won The Dual was in 2018 when the Cougs swept the Huskies in Pullman.
Field events for the 2022 edition of the WSU-UW Dual will begin at 10:30 a.m. PT. Track events at noon. The day's final event is set at 3:45 p.m. PT. The Dual will be scored using a 5-3-1 system, where first place gets five points, second gets three points, and third gets one point. In the relay events, only first place receives five points.
Admission to the WSU-UW Dual is free and fans can enter the Mooberry Track and Field Complex through the gate closest to the Hollingbery Fieldhouse. More information on Mooberry Track can be found here.
