Basin Brief: Quincy to sponsor spring cleanup day

QUINCY — Quincy residents will have the chance to get rid of some of that stuff that’s accumulated around the place during the annual Spring Cleanup Day, scheduled ffrom 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 23 according to an announcement from the city.

The dropoff point is the city yard next to the Public Services Building at the intersection of First Avenue SW and Division Street West. Residents will be responsible for unloading any materials they bring.

Appliances will be accepted, with a $10 fee charged for those that contain or once contained Freon, according to information from city officials. Household refuse and scrap metal also will be accepted.

Tires, paint, car parts, pesticides and roofing materials will not be accepted. A complete list of acceptable and unacceptable materials is available on the city’s website, www.quincywashington.us.

Residents will be required to show a current city utility bill or receipt before dumping.
