Cecil Lee Newkirk

Cecil Newkirk, 73, passed away April 1, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Wash. Cecil was born Feb. 21, 1949, to Sylvia Newkirk in Raton, N.M. His father, Carmon Irwin, died before Sylvia gave birth. He was later adopted and raised by Henry Oliver Newkirk. Cecil is survived by his older brother Jack Newkirk and younger brother Alfred Newkirk. He is predeceased by his younger brother William Newkirk. Cecil is also survived by his wife Angela Newkirk of 50 years of marriage, and their son Shadwick Newkirk, daughter-in-law Krissy Newkirk and grandson Braeden Newkirk.

Cecil relocated from the New Mexico/Texas border region to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to his son and family.

Cecil spent his entire career in the cattle business and had a passion for horses. He enjoyed his retirement years training horses and teaching others how to excel in horsemanship. The community of Moses Lake welcomed him, and he enjoyed long-lasting friendships in the equine community.
