Wahluke SD screening for highly capable program

MATTAWA — Screening for students to determine if they qualify for the Wahluke School District’s highly-capable program will begin April 18. The screening process will be open through May 22, according to a district press release.

All second grade students are screened for hi-cap placement; screening is scheduled for April 18-25. Screening for students in other grades is scheduled for April 25 through May 20.

Placement referrals are being accepted for students in all grades, pre-kindergarten through high school. Parents can refer a child for screening, but must fill out and return a permission form prior to the start of testing. Permission forms can be picked up at the student’s school office, and can be returned to the school or the district’s office of teaching and learning, 411 Saddle Mountain Dr. Forms are available in English and Spanish.
