Run for a Cause 5K Color Run raises money for recreation
OTHELLO — The Columbia Basin Health Association Run for a Cause 5K Color Run Aug. 28 raised more than $40,000 for parks and recreation departments.
Courtney Martinez, one of the organizers, wrote in an email the Color Run attracted 592 entries.
“Due to other community events taking place in the area, attendance was a little less compared to previous years,” Martinez wrote.
Martinez said the money raised would be donated to the parks and recreation departments in Othello, Mattawa and Connell, the three towns where CBHA has a clinic.
This was the fourth year for the Color Run and the third race in person. It moved online in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
