The thieves broke into the volunteer’s vehicle sometime during the night, according to a GCSO social media post.
The fire gear was stored in a red Cordura bag, which included a yellow helmet, a jacket with “Royal Slope” written on the back, pants and boots. The jacket and pants have stripes of reflective material.
Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer, wrote in the social media post the replacement cost would be about $5,000.
