Two injured in collision near Ephrata

An Ephrata woman and a Richland man were injured Thursday morning in a collision on state Route 28, near Soap Lake, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Mary J. Thomas, 69, of Ephrata, was driving north on Road A Northeast just before 10:15 a.m. in a black 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Timothy K. Krumbah, 37, of Richland, was driving west on state Route 28 in a 1985 Freightliner with two trailers.

The Dodge failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by the Freightliner, according to the WSP. The Freightliner rolled and came to rest blocking the eastbound and westbound lanes. The Dodge came to rest in the intersections of state Route 28 and Road A Northeast.

Thomas was taken by private transport to Columbia Basin Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt and was cited for failure to yield.

Krumbah was taken by ambulance to Columbia Basin Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt. His passenger, Trevor K. Krumbah, 15, of Kennewick, was not injured and wore a seat belt.

Both vehicles had reportable damages.
