ROYAL CITY — The Royal Slope Senior Center will sponsor a free soup luncheon at noon Oct. 27 in the community center at the Royal City Golf Course and RV Park at 13702 Dodson Road.

Senior center member Sharon Chesterman said the lunch is geared toward seniors, but anybody can come by for a bowl of soup.

“We hope people will come,” she said.

The idea is to give people a chance to get out and get together after more than 18 months of social distancing. People are ready to get out and resume some of the activities interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, she said.

“Just something to celebrate fall and harvest and get people together again,” Chesterton said.

Lunch will feature homemade soup, rolls and dessert.

“We’re going to have quite a variety of soup. And probably even a chili,” she said.
