Clayton Thomas Pray

Clayton was born in Madras, Oregon, on June 11, 1973. He lived the majority of his life in Moses Lake. Clayton went to Peninsula Elementary School and Frontier Junior High and graduated from Moses Lake High School. He then went to Big Bend where he specialized in auto mechanics.

Clayton went to work for Cenex and worked in a number of different departments. He then went to work for the city of Moses Lake in the Parks and Recreation department. He worked his way up the ranks and became the supervisor for the department and was recognized statewide for his work.

Clayton’s passions were hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, four-wheeling in the Sand Dunes and other areas, camping, the Chicago Bears and most of all, his family. He would help his family and friends out on just about anything. Clayton passed away on Oct. 12 in Idaho doing what he loved, hunting.

Clayton is survived by his parents, Jack and Lea Pray of Moses Lake; a sister Nikki Mackey and her husband Scott; children Brian Pray and wife Alexis of Moses Lake, Kaitlin Pray and her fiancé Kaz of Moses Lake, Charlie Pray of Moses Lake and Jonathon Pray of Soap Lake; as well as numerous cousins, an aunt Shirley Kindig and husband Ken of John Day, Oregon, an uncle Ron Phifer of Madras, Oregon and an aunt Cheryl Lambe of Coulee City (Blue Lake); a very special person in his life, Marie Bruce of Moses Lake, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on Stratford Road in Moses Lake.
