Letter: Support Judy Madewell for city council

| October 15, 2021 1:00 AM

a month away, I feel it my duty, as both a voter and a concerned Moses Lake resident, to look closely at a number of races, which I have. But my attention is mostly focused on the races for city council.

Though I have nothing against David Curnel – he has casted up and stitched up my family a few times – rather, it is about change. And that change comes in the name of Judy Peters Madewell. I have known Judy for over 25 years. And what I know of her convinces mew that she would be a dedicated asset to the city of Moses Lake.

As my next-door neighbor for eight years, there were many over-the-fence consultations, and sometimes patio talks, about the issues facing our fine city. And throughout it all, we found ourselves lining up on the same side of things.

Judy’s achievements as an employee of the Moses Lake School District, as I also was for 22 years, and her time representing public school employees are too numerous to mention here, but can be seen in the Grant County Official Voters Pamphlet on page 99. It is a picture of dedication. And that is perhaps Judy Madewell’s greatest characteristic – her love and dedication for our town. All she has ever done has been for the betterment of our growing community, and for the continuation of that growth.

On Election Day I will be voting for Judy Madewell, not because she is my friend, but because I know what she stands for. She stands for Moses Lake.
