Grant Integrated Services to have new name, logo
Grant Integrated Services gave itself a makeover that includes a new name, new logo and new mission.
Dell Anderson, executive director of what’s now called Renew, Grant Behavioral Health & Wellness, said the rebranding has been in the works for the last year. He also said it has been something he was toying with since he started at Grant Integrated Services a little more than two years ago. He wanted to change the perception of the organization held by the community. He wanted the community to feel welcome at the facilities and for the conversation around the services it offers to not be riddled with stigma.
Part of its new name, Behavioral Health & Wellness, is below Renew in its logo to more clearly communicate the role of providing drug and alcohol recovery, in addition to mental health services, and represents its aim to care for the whole person, not just focusing on the services it provides, such as referring people to other services they may need, Anderson said.
Anderson said he is very proud the rebranding was done through a committee of 15 staff members from different departments at the organization. He said they conducted 34 hours worth of individual interviews on what was needed in the rebranding and what name they should move forward with to represent their new image.
“I think the key was that this wasn’t led by me,” Anderson said. “It’s about the staff and the community.”
The new name, Renew, actually came from one of the interviews with the staff.
With the rebranding, it also wanted to change the work environment at the company. Staff wanted to make it a more welcoming work culture, where they felt like their voices were heard. Anderson said he felt the name fits the purpose of renewing the organization’s commitment to the community and the staff in its buildings.
Renew has started the process of changing its name and logo across its platforms and locations, but it will take some time for it to be completely cohesive. It has changed its website and paperwork, but buildings have yet to replace the old signage outside. Until it can be completed, it has banners with the new name.
A press release Sept. 30 stated the new logo was created to reflect its six office locations. Those include Moses Lake, Ephrata, Grand Coulee, Quincy, Royal City and Mattawa. There are six circles in the logo for each of the locations and each circle is a different color. These colors represent the colors found throughout the Columbia Basin, the release said. It said orange represented the sun, brown for the basalt found across the region, green for agriculture, purple for flora, blue for the Columbia River and gray represented the volcanic rock formations throughout the Columbia Basin.
