October 15, 1968 – August 3, 2021

Leiza Ann Tobin passed away Aug. 3, 2021, at Central Washington Hospital, Wenatchee, Washington. Leiza was born to Michael Tobin and Carol (Davis) Tobin on Oct. 15, 1968. She came into this world early, very small, but she was a fighter and beat CP, until it finally became too much this summer.

She graduated Montesano High School, class of 1987, went on to Washington State University, class of 1991, and later got her masters at the University of Phoenix.

She married Vernon Judd in Hailey, Idaho, on Sept. 18, 1993. They moved to Ephrata and finally to Moses Lake. Vernon and Leiza eventually divorced. She then met her partner, Jay Mercer. He remains at the family home in Moses Lake.

For the past 25 years, she had worked for Grant County Mental Health.

Leiza enjoyed visiting family and friends, traveling, gathering rocks, going to drag races, gardening and crafting. She took in may stray cats to love at her home, and adopt out.

Her brother nicknamed her Diesel when she was young because she was always pushing though any obstacles put before her. Her kindness and sense of humor will be missed.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather Carol and Robert Bovee; her brother Mike and Teresa Tobin; brother Bill and Tina Tobin; nephews Matt Tobin, Kodi and Jessica Tobin and their son Blake, and Ken and Veronica Tobin and their daughters Addison and Aurora; and niece Kelsey and Justin Wieland and their children Braelyn, Saria, Hunter and Emory. Her father passed away Nov. 7, 2014.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 511 Potato Hill Road SE.
