AC Pet Rescue schedules fundraiser
OTHELLO — Adams County Pet Rescue will have a fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday with the help of Jordan’s Way, an organization that raises money for animal shelters nationwide and encourages adoption.
The goal for ACPR is $15,000. People can donate now on ACPR’s social media site. Donations of food and supplies also are being accepted at the shelter at 1961 W. Bench Road.
According to the Jordan’s Way website, the four hours will be a mix of games, challenges and pies in the face.
Shelter employees, volunteers and sometimes animal control officers will participate in the ice bucket challenge, maybe eat a hot pepper and sit in the dunk tank. There could even be sit-ups and push-ups involved.
The event will be live streamed on social media.
“Sounds like something interesting. We’ve never done it before,” said ACPR employee Anita Plancarte.
Kris Rotonda named Jordan’s Way after his dog, Jordan, whom he found at an animal shelter and founded his organization after Jordan died in 2018.
The organization’s goal is to raise money for shelters in all 50 states, according to the Jordan’s Way website.
