MOSES LAKE — Donations of coats will be accepted through Oct. 31 for the annual Coats 4 Kids coat drive, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Moses Lake and Cobie’s Fine Dry Cleaning. Coats will be distributed from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the Chief Moses Middle School cafeteria, 1111 E. Nelson Road. There’s a limit of four free coats per family.

New and used coats in good condition are needed, but coats needing repair are not. The used coats will be cleaned by Cobie’s prior to distribution.

Rotary member Alex Town said coats can be dropped off at Samaritan Hospital, 801 E. Wheeler Road, Moses Lake, and the Samaritan clinics at 1550 S. Pioneer Way and 8420 Aspi Blvd. Other dropoff points are the office of Steven Ausere DC, 2200 Maiers Road, Suite B, and Umpqua Bank at 101 E. Fourth Ave., both in Moses Lake.

It’s called Coats 4 Kids, but traditionally the Rotary Club has distributed coats in all sizes, from children to adults.

“We will take any size of coats,” Town wrote in an email. “We mainly focus on children’s coats, but we also receive a number of coats for adolescents and adults that we distribute during the event.”

Typically, most of the coats are distributed, he said. Any coats remaining will be stored until next year.

Coats 4 Kids is a longtime Rotary project; the club has been a sponsor since 1997.
