MOSES LAKE — In an eight minute, 33 second-long online meeting Thursday morning, the Moses Lake School Board swore in assistant superintendent Carole Meyer as the Moses Lake School District’s interim superintendent.

“Congratulations, Carole,” said board member Alana DeGooyer.

Meyer has been the MLSD’s assistant superintendent since being hired in 2017, after then-assistant superintendent Josh Meek was named as the MLSD’s superintendent. Prior to that, Meyer was a principal in the Spokane Public Schools beginning in 2004, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The board ended Meek’s employment in August following an investigation into financial concerns, including the use of a district credit card.

The board has given no timetable for hiring a new, permanent superintendent.
