Brenda Joyce Valentine
March 27, 1949 – November 7, 2021
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Brenda Joyce Valentine, 72, a resident of Moses Lake, Washington, on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, Washington, of COVID-19 complications. Her cheerful heart and bright smile and sense of humor will be missed by her family and friends.
Brenda was born March 27, 1949, to Lee Davis Sampson and Rheola Nelson in Ozan, Arkansas. Brenda was a twin, of two sets of twins, daughter number five of 14 children.
Brenda was the mother to four children: Diana Derricott, Rhodesia Britt, Damien Reed, and Falecia Valentine. Brenda was a military wife as she raised her children and worked in retail for several years. She raised her children with love and devotion and was cherished by both her children and grandchildren.
Brenda became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July 2008. She loved her ministry work of 13 years; she served in the full-time ministry for nine of those years. She loved abstract painting, jewelry making, cooking, gardening, vintage fashion collecting and her family. Brenda was our dearly loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, aunt and niece, and she will be greatly missed by her loving family and dear friends.
Brenda is survived by children Diana Derricott (Ernest), Damien Reed (Susan) and Falecia Valentine; grandchildren Alyssa, Justin, Moriah, Sadie, Devon, Safiya, Austin and Asia; great-grandchildren Auna, Deshane, Romello, Kamiyah and Amari; siblings William Sampson, Elray Sampson, Randy Sampson, Claudia Thompson and Carylon Zulqurnian. nieces, nephews, cousins, countless friends and a dog named Pede.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee Davis Sampson & Rheola Sampson; siblings Harl Sampson, Verdie Cheathem, Maple Williams, Wilma Winters, Olivia Sampson, Marzell Sampson and Valgene Sampson; and daughter Rhodesia Britt.
