Gerald Allen Baker

Gerald Allen Baker, 78, of Moses Lake, passed away on Nov. 8, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Gerald was born on April 15, 1943, to Carl and Mary Baker in Reedley, California. After graduating from Reedley High School in 1961, he went on to study industrial studies at Reedley College. He met his wife, Janet, while she was working at the drive-in and they wed on Jan. 27, 1968, going on to have two children, Carol and Shelly. He went into the Marines during the Vietnam War. He went back to college to become a nurse. He then went into the Air Force using his nursing degree.

Gerald was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Carol, Shelly and Janet and always tried his best to support them. Gerald was also passionate about socializing, fishing, camping, and spending time with his church friends. Anyone who knew Gerald knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.

Gerald was predeceased by his father Carl Baker and mother Mary Baker. He is survived by his wife Janet Baker, daughter Carol Crapson, daughter Shelly Nelson, granddaughter Alison Nelson, grandson Braylon Nelson, grandson Cason Nelson, sister Gayle Baker and sister Carol Epler.
