Bert Udell Holman Sr.

Bert Udell Holman Sr., of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away on Nov. 15, 2021, to be with his Heavenly Father.

Bert was born on July 26, 1945, in Yakima, Washington, to Lorin and Norma Holman. He moved with his family to Moses Lake at the age of 7, where he graduated in 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the army and served in Germany.

When he returned home from Germany, he worked for U and I Sugar Company, along with other short-term jobs, until he started his career as a Moses Lake letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He celebrated his retirement in 2006.

Bert met the love of his life, Stella Holman, and married her in 1968. The two were married for 53 years. They started their family in 1970.

He enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.

But most of all, he loved spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took much pride in his family. He has a strong faith and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bert was survived by his beautiful wife Stella, daughter Tena Collins-Staley and husband Mike Staley, daughter Cindy Cox and husband Brent Cox, son Bert Holman Jr. and wife Heather Holman, son Don Holman, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with one on the way. Other survivors include two brothers Jerry and Jody Holman, sister Venda Hill and honorary daughter LeAnn Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents Lorin and Norma Holman, brother Lorin and grandson Alan Collins.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1849 Nelson Road NE, Moses Lake, Washington. Viewing will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. with funeral starting at 11 a.m.
