Ephrata volleyball headed to state
EPHRATA — The Ephrata High School volleyball team will compete Friday and possibly Saturday, if all goes well, at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) 2A State Volleyball Championship at the Yakima Valley SunDome in Yakima.
EHS is among the 16 teams playing for the chance to be named state champions. Going into the state tournament, the Lady Tigers are 17-2 overall and 11-1 in their conference. Their losses this season include to Chelan High School 3-2 and Ellensburg High School 3-0. Despite its initial loss, Ephrata came back and beat Ellensburg the second time it was matched on Saturday, 3-2.
The Lady Tigers’ first match in the state tournament is against Anacortes at 8:45 a.m. The tournament goes through Saturday evening, with only the top eight receiving placements.
