Sandra Kay Metzker Garcia
Sandra Kay Metzker Garcia passed away comfortably at home surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 12, 2021, in Moses Lake, Washington.
Sandy was a very fun, caring and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. Sandy was born on Jan. 3, 1965, in Yakima, Washington, to John and Linda (Barnes) Metzker. Sandy attended and graduated high school in Othello, Washington, Class of 1983. After high school Sandy attended Yakima Valley Community College.
Throughout her early life Sandy worked in many environments and made many connections and a great deal of friends. Her lifelong career began at Chemicon Materials where she retired after 24 years. Sandy made a lot of friends and touched many hearts at work and throughout her beautiful life she touched and cared for many. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, John and Linda Metzker.
Sandy is survived by her husband Jesus (Nat) Garcia of 13 years and dog Bella; her sons Anthony Metzker (wife Maranda) and Zachery Metzker (wife Leah) in Moses Lake Washington; Natalie Alonso (husband Tino) in Yakima, Washington, Jarrod Garcia in Moses Lake, Washington, and Graham Garcia in Spokane, Washington; sisters Kathy Hoag (Larry) of Prosser, Washington, in Surprise, Arizona and Pamala Luczak (husband Marlin) in Moses Lake, Washington; brothers Gary Metzker (Marlene) in Richland, Washington, John Metzker Jr. in Moses Lake, Washington and Howard Metzker (wife Melissa) in Yakima, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her joys in her life were her grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart; Jayden, Jaylie and Jaylah Alonso. They always went camping and on vacations with Grandma. Grandma made sure to instill all of her great values, morals and go-getter attitude in all of them. Her youngest grandson Hudson Metzker, she loved unconditionally. Grandma got him lots of gifts and also taught him all of the great nursery rhymes.
A viewing will be held at Kayser’s Memorial Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake Washington on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The viewing will be followed by a graveside service at Guarding Angels Cemetery, also in Moses Lake Washington, at 11:15. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in 2022.
