Church members pitch in at food bank
MOSES LAKE — Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints found enjoyment in service on Oct. 26, participating in the Moses Lake Food Bank’s Senior 850 project, according to a press release from Dennis Draleau, communications director for the church’s Moses Lake stake.
Every month, the food bank provides 850 30-pound crates of food to seniors in the area, enlisting a crew of 12 to 14 volunteers to assemble the boxes. The boxes are then distributed at a drive-thru event.
Anyone interested in volunteering to assist with Senior 850 or other food bank work can view the opportunities at JustServe.org and sign up online, or contact CSML directly at 509-765-8101 or by email at CSML@mlfood.org.
