Jason Rod Munoz
March 22, 1970 – May 1, 2021
Jason Rod Munoz, 51, was born on March 22, 1970, in Powell, Wyoming, and was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2021, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. His loving companion and childhood sweetheart of 14 years, Annette Alvarado Hippolyte, was by his side when he succumbed to COVID-19.
Jason was the most thoughtful, kindest, generous and encouraging soul you could ever meet; because of his own pain and trials he could see other people’s hurts and would always go out of his way to help and comfort them. A vendor who worked with him stated, “Over the past two years Jason became more than a customer, he became a friend. I’ve told people I work with several times over the past couple of years that if all of our customers were as nice and as good to work with as Jason, all of our jobs would be a lot more enjoyable.” He remembered a time when Jason drove several hours out of his way on a Sunday to take him his forgotten iPad.
Jason managed agency crews for landscaping, maintenance, and repairs in various places in the states of California and Washington. His final work place was Family Services of Grant County in Moses Lake, Washington, as the facilities and transportation manager. His work ethic was of the highest caliber, and he was highly regarded and loved by his employees, his supervisors and coworkers. His professionalism, productivity, and friendliness were second to none, Jason is truly one that will be irreplaceable and he will be deeply missed. Family Services of Grant County has dedicated and named an area at their main center in honor of Jason R. Munoz.
Jason enjoyed making homemade summer sausage and pepperoni sticks and gave them to everyone he knew as Christmas gifts. He liked to surprise vendors, coworkers and even those he didn’t know very well with his delicious treats. His other hobbies included four-wheeling, playing the banjo and harmonica, listening to folk music, watching and reading Old Westerns, collecting Star Wars memorabilia and making loved ones amazing homemade cheesecakes.
Jason was an amazing dad and provider; he loved his children and grandchildren and gave his all to them. He also cherished his sister Gina and always looked up to his big brother Anthony. Jason also loved and respected his closest cousins that he grew up with: Tim Munoz Jay, Charles Garcia and Andy Garcia; they will forever be “The Four Amigos.”
Jason is survived by his fiancée Annette Alvarado Hippolyte; his mother Deborah Deaguero; father Ramiro Munoz, his three children Caven Munoz, Debra Ramirez and Cameron Berry Munoz; his sister Gina Chadwick; his brothers Anthony Munoz, Josh Munoz and Ethen Munoz and his beautiful grandchildren Reign Ramirez and Cali Ramirez.
A private gathering will be held at a later date. Jason’s ashes will be spread in Hunters, Washington, at his cabin on Bissell Mountain to honor his request.
