Polo Ridge development set to move to third stage
Schneider Custom Homes LLC is in the application process for Phase 3 of Polo Ridge, the final 11 lots of a residential development extending Polo Ridge Drive between Paxson and Crestview drives in Moses Lake.
The final phase will have about six floor plans to choose from, ranging from 1,500 to 2,200 square feet, said Realty Executives agent Doug Robins.
In the application process, Schneider must go through the municipal code, environmental, subdivision, zoning and development regulation processes.
Phase 1 started 15 years ago, said Schneider Custom Homes owner Jerry Schneider. Because the company primarily builds in the Puget Sound area, it has done the Polo Ridge development in phases when the company had time between other projects.
The Polo Ridge area is growing rapidly with other developments, as well, Robins said. It’s a nice spot, near town, Park Orchard Elementary School, the Boys & Girls Clubs of The Columbia Basin and several churches.
The other new developments adjacent, such as Olsen Homes LLC’s Barrington Point and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church’s expansion, will bring in even more new families, enhancing the area, he said.
Schneider Custom Homes LLC started in 1974 and builds primarily on the west side of the Cascades. Its first venture in the region was around 2006 in Mae Valley, Schneider said.
Since then, the company purchased 150 acres in Mae Valley, where one day Schneider plans to build a mixed housing development of lakefront condominiums and townhomes.
A public hearing for Polo Ridge Phase 3 has been scheduled before the city of Moses Lake hearing examiner on May 26, and the development should be complete within the year.
