Katy Marie Larsen
July 17, 1984 – April 30, 2021
Katy Marie Larsen passed away April 30, 2021, at the age of 36. She was born July 17, 1984, in Moses Lake, Washington, to Dave and Debbie Larsen.
Katy attended school in the Ephrata School District, Moses Lake School District and Soap Lake School District where she made many friends. She excelled in basketball and golf during her high school years and continued playing both throughout her life. She graduated from Smokiam Alternative High School in Soap Lake in 2003.
Katy was an exceptional cook, having worked in the food service industry for over 15 years. She started out at the Moses Lake Country Club working for Chef Sameh for several years and then again working with him at Vashon Island Country Club. After Vashon, Katy moved back to Ephrata, where she worked at several local establishments cooking up delicious renowned meals.
Katy had a huge heart and if she was a friend of yours there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for you. Her sense of humor was incredible; a person could not be near her without laughing at some quick-witted words from Katy. She had a joke or wisecrack ready for any situation. She loved animals and her dog Buster was her constant companion. Anywhere Katy was, Buster was not far behind.
Katy is survived by her father Dave Larsen of Ephrata; sisters Shannon (Roman) Rodriguez (Emily, Austin, Grace, Faith) of Ephrata, Kristy (Bailey) Rediger (Kasen, Norah, Rowen) of Ephrata and Sarah Larsen (MacKenzie, Peyton, RyKer) of Ephrata; brother Cody Cole (Aria) of Cape Coral, Florida; stepsons Trentyn and Corbyn; stepdaughter Zoey and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. Katy, is preceded in death by her mother Debbie Cole, maternal grandparents Larry and Mary Hansen of Ephrata and paternal grandparents Eric and Eunice Lundy of Omak.
Celebration of life will be held at The Wit at Lakeview Golf Course in Soap Lake, Washington, on Friday, May 7 at 2 p.m.
