Warden City Council receives annexation request
WARDEN — Warden city officials may plan to annex a piece of property, located at Pine Avenue and First Street, into the city, after receiving a request for it.
The property is about 40,000 square feet and city clerk Kristine Shuler said it’s contiguous to the city limits, but was never annexed.
Currently, the property is not developed, but Shuler said its owners may consider development. The current owner is Gary Mann, of Moses Lake, according to the Grant County Assessor.
The next step is a discussion with the property owner to determine the plans for the property. Depending on the answers, Warden City Council members will consider a resolution to proceed at the March 23 council meeting.
The landowner would petition the city for annexation, and city officials would review assessor’s office records to determine the property’s status. If the council decides to go ahead, a public hearing will be scheduled, Shuler said.
If city officials decide to proceed, the property would be annexed by ordinance.
