April 10, 1959 – May 24, 2021

Ronald (Ron) Dale Cooper (Rollins), after a brave battle with cancer, passed peacefully on May 24, 2021.

Born in Colville, Washington on April 10, 1959, Ron is survived by his mother Claudia Patterson (Cooper/Light), stepfather Jim Patterson, sister Tammy Cooper (Rollins), daughter Christina and granddaughter Remy. He is survived by many other family members, who will also be missing him. Ron was predeceased by his father, Nathan Dale Rollins, in 2013.

Ron spent his youth in Kettle Falls, Washington, and later moved to Trail, British Columbia, where he finished school. He later joined his mother and sister and settled in Calgary, Alberta.

We also acknowledge and thank Ron for his military service in the U.S. Army. As a young man, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served as PFC, cannon crewman, 1979-1985. He received an Army Service Ribbon, two overseas service ribbons, and an expert qualification badge (M-16).

Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Kirk, David Walker, Mike Walker, Dennis Philmon, Leslie Philmon, Wayne Hughes, Gary Briant, Charlie Briant, Gary Green and Greg Green.

Many know that one of Ron’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He genuinely looked forward to the days that he knew would bring in a good catch! His favorite spot was with Aunt Shirley at Narcisse Creek, with Aunt Margie’s approval, of course! Ron inherited our families’ green thumb and loved tending our gardens over the years. He truly enjoyed helping Aunt Nora with her weed patch, too! Aunt Millie was a true advocate, helping wherever she could. Aunt Nada appreciated Ron’s help with heavy lifting when he could and he was the happy recipient of her wonderful Southern home cooking! He seldom left Aunt Corrine’s without a bundle of her homemade baked goodies!

Memorial services will be held at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Spokane County, Washington on July 12, 2021, at 1 p.m.

Rest easy, son and brother. You are always loved and will be missed.
