Adams County Commission seeks district court judge replacement
RITZVILLE — Adams County Commissioners hope to appoint a new Adams County District Court Judge in early July, if not before, as current district court judge Adalia Hille announced her retirement effective June 30.
Court staff would not comment on when Hille made her announcement.
Adams County has two district court positions, one in Ritzville and one in Othello. Hille heard cases in Ritzville.
State law requires district court judges to be appointed by county commissioners.
Commissioner Dan Blankenship said commissioners would prefer to have a successor named by the time Hille retires, but that may not happen.
Inquiries on whether commissioners currently have candidates were not returned by press time, but the application deadline was June 18.
