EPHRATA — Candidates filed for two open seats for the Mattawa Community Clinic board in a special filing period June 1-3, and an open fire district seat also attracted a candidate. But a seat on the Royal School District School Board didn’t attract any candidates, although a write-in candidate announced a campaign.

Jessica Fernandez will run unopposed for position 1 on the Mattawa Community Clinic (Grant County Hospital District 5) board and Barbara Davis will run unopposed for position 3. There were three seats open on the board, and the third failed to attract a candidate.

No one filed for position 1 on the Royal School Board, but Grant County election officials said Anson Bartrand has since announced he will run as a write-in.

Shannon Nicholson will run unopposed for the open seat on the Grand Coulee Dam School Board.

Kevin Danby filed for the open seat on the Grant County Fire District 13 board. The district covers part of the unincorporated area around Ephrata.

One open seat on the Airport Parks and Recreation District board attracted a candidate, David Hunt, who filed for position 1. No one filed for the remaining open seats.

David John Huber will run unopposed for the open seat on the Coulee City Town Council, but an open seat on the Krupp (Marlin) Town Council didn’t attract any candidates.
