September 23, 1951 – June 9, 2021

Carmen Ida (Taylor) Blue, 69, passed away at home on June 9, 2021. Carmen grew up in Quincy, Washington. Carmen left her loved ones early due to her short battle with pancreatic cancer. She had her two daughters to comfort her during her passing.

Carmen was born on September 23, 1951, in Guam, USA. She was the eldest child of Paul Taylor and Carmen Lomalin. She is survived by two brothers, two sisters and her three children Jeremy Taylor, Aimée Veden and La Donna (Veden) Workman. Carmen has four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carmen had many hobbies that she enjoyed doing. She especially loved to garden. When Carmen lived in a house her entire back yard was a garden. Her grandchildren would come over and play in the garden, imagining that it was a fairy land. Not only did Carmen have a green thumb, but she was also great at preserving all sorts of food. Her family especially loved her homemade canned salsa and pickled asparagus. She had a big heart for animals, and cared for not only hers but anyone who asked her to watch after theirs.

A hobby that Carmen kept close to her heart was writing. She had notebooks lined with stories about her memories, hopes and dreams. She had kept her writing a secret. It was only after her passing that her family found out how much she truly loved to write. Once her family read her notebooks, they were able to see more into her way of thinking and couldn’t help but love her more. Carmen was a very private person but a very loyal friend to those she held close.

To honor and celebrate Carmen’s life, there will be a memorial held at a later, unknown date. If you would like to join the memorial please contact Aimée Veden at 253-320-0300.
