ROYAL CITY — An unoccupied double-wide trailer near MarDon Resort sustained extensive damage when it caught fire Sunday evening.

Eric Linn, fire chief for Grant County Fire District 10, said the fire at 7788 Road F SE, about two miles west of the resort, was reported at about 6:13 p.m.

Crews kept the fire damage to the room of origin, Linn said, but the home sustained considerable fire and water damage.

Grant County Fire District 4 crews also responded, Linn said. No one was injured, but one firefighter was overcome by heat exhaustion and was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. He was treated and released, Linn said.

Linn said 23 firefighters responded to the fire. Fire crews were on the scene for about three and a half hours.

“Our crew did an amazing job,” he said.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators think it was electrical, he said.
