| July 29, 2021 1:00 AM

November 10, 1960 – July 9, 2021

Juan Carlos Moncada, 60, of Moses Lake, Washington, died unexpectedly at home July 9, 2021.

Juan was born in Crystal City, Texas, on Nov. 10, 1960. He was an always-present big brother to his five siblings and their spouses and a very involved uncle with his nieces and nephews. He had a love of music, was an avid musician and computer enthusiast, and was able to fix most anything. He performed in several bands as lead guitarist throughout his life, but mostly remembered as the lead guitarist for The Waylights (Sueno). He worked in Quincy for many years with Jones Produce. He selflessly cared for both of his parents when they needed the help the most. Most recently he worked for the Othello School District and took great pride in his work there.

Juan is survived by his sisters Genoveva Moncada Varela and Mary Guadalupe Moncada, and brothers Margarito Moncada Jr., Daniel Moncada and Gerardo Moncada. He was also lucky to have many cousins, aunts, and uncles nearby over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents Margarito Moncada Sr. and Elida Moncada.

At his request no service will be held. Juan hoped friends and family would remember who he was and not the later years with his lung cancer battle. He chose to be quiet and humble, and pushed through with his illness. He is now in his mother’s and father’s arms and will never be forgotten by his brothers and sisters.
