AC Auditor announces a special filing period

RITZVILLE — A special filing period has been scheduled for Aug. 13-16 for Adams County offices that didn’t attract any candidates during the regular filing period in May.

Offices up for election include two on the Hatton Town Council, each for a four-year term. One seat is vacant; Jose China is the incumbent in the second seat. One open seat on the Washtucna Town Council is for a four-year term. Theresa St. Hilaire is the incumbent.

Three school districts have open seats. The Washtucna School District has one seat open for a two-year unexpired term. Vicki Boland is the incumbent. There’s one seat open for a four-year term on the Ritzville School Board. Layne Iltz is the incumbent. The open position on the Lind School board currently is vacant. It’s for a four-year term.

One seat is open on the Adams County Fire District 6 Commission, covering the area around Benge. Jerry Whitman is the incumbent.

Two seats on the Adams County Parks and Recreation District 1 Commission in Othello didn’t attract any candidates. One position is for a four-year term; Oscar Casadas is the incumbent. The second seat is vacant and is for a two-year unexpired term.

Two seats are open on the Adams County Parks and Recreation District 2 Commission, Washtucna. Carol Thompson is the incumbent for one of them, a two-year unexpired term. The second is for a four-year term. Vicki Boland is the incumbent.
