Blair Nicole Alexander-Smith, 36, of Ephrata, passed away July 3, 2021, in her home.

She was born on Aug. 15, 1985, in Moses Lake, to parents Skip and Deb Alexander of Soap Lake. After attending Soap Lake High School, she went to Spokane Falls Community College, and then Interface College, where she became a chairside dental assistant. She continued working in Moses Lake and Ephrata. While attending Spokane Falls Community College, she always found time to volunteer at the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and the Ronald McDonald House.

Working with children was her first love; she worked at Grandma’s Pad day care in Ephrata and spent the last eight years working as a nanny. She had an immense love for every child she ever met. The kids in Blair’s orbit learned the alphabet, did crafts, learned to swim, had water balloon parties and experienced nature.

There are a million little things that Blair will be remembered for, including her love of little things. She remembered everyone’s birthday and planned many birthday parties and events. She loved camping, hiking, geocaching and being on the water, whether it was a lake, river or pool. She had a close bond with her grandparents and was a great help to them. She also loved hugs, giving gifts and writing thoughtful notes.

Blair was married to Russell Smith, of Moses Lake, for seven years. They were married in Ephrata on Sept. 6, 2014.

Blair is survived by her husband Russell; parents Skip and Deb; in-laws Elliott and Judy; grandmother Marilyn; brother Blake (Erin); sisters-in-law Cindy (Marc) and Evi (Scott) Reed; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and her fur-baby, Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Meredith and Bobbie Alexander and her grandfather, Russel Sage.

The Celebration of Life will take place on Aug. 15, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Lakeview Golf and Country Club.
