A Moses Lake man, an Issaquah man and teenager were injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision two miles northwest of Easton on Interstate 90.

Peter C. Hammer, 78, was driving west in his silver 2020 Subaru Forester just before 12:28 p.m., when he tried merging into another lane while a black 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 was passing, striking the vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Ram struck a barrier, tripped and rolled before coming to rest blocking all three westbound lanes. The Forester stopped on the left shoulder.

Hammer was treated at the scene for his injuries and may receive charges. It was unknown whether he wore a seat belt, but everyone else involved did. His passenger, Virginia P. Hammer, 63, also of Moses Lake, was uninjured.

The driver of the Ram, Aaron R. Bernier, 48, of Issaquah, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for injuries, as was passenger Emerson Bernier, 14, of Issaquah. Another passenger, Cadence Bauer, 17, also of Issaquah, was uninjured.

The cause was deemed improper merging.
