Shirley Julia Reynolds Howard

March 8, 1936 – June 22, 2021

Shirley Julia Reynolds Howard was born on March 8, 1936 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, to Jesse O. Reynolds (born in North Carolina) and Matilda Parini (born in Italy). Shirley quietly passed away in her Sequim home on June 22, 2021, with her husband of 67 years, Douglas Howard, at her side.

Married in 1954 in Boise, Idaho, Doug and Shirley had their ups and downs for over 67 years. They shared a lot of laughs, a lot of tears and a lot of love!

Her husband Douglas like to try new things, so they moved often. Over the years they owned two restaurants, a tavern, a mini-market, two older supermarkets, two used car lots and a produce store. Shirley dutifully followed and excelled in all their many adventures. Somehow she managed her own career in business, as a bookkeeper, restaurant owner, credit supervisor for Sears and lab tech for Nestlé Foods in Moses Lake.

Shirley is survived by her husband Douglas D. Howard; sons Douglas L. Howard and Dwight L. Howard; grandchildren Jesse G. K. Howard, Heather C. Howard and Shawna Howard and great-grandchildren Jazzlin Howard, Dustin Howard and Jackson Howard. Grandchild Jennifer L. Howard preceded her in death.

She is also survived by sisters Linda Belk of Gastonia, North Carolina and Norma Cacchiotti of Yakima, Washington. Elsie Vincent preceded her in death.
