March 22, 1932 – June 27, 2021

Betty Joann Paysse, 89, of Shelton, Washington, passed away on June 27, 2021. She is celebrating with many loved ones and Jesus!

Joann was first and foremost a wonderful homemaker, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. A delicious meal could always be had in her home and many remember her dinner parties and hospitality. She worked at many different jobs including at the post office and as a school bus driver, secretary and farm wife. She was very active in several communities and various churches throughout her life. Joann enjoyed hunting and fishing with her dad when she was young and made beautiful ceramics. She loved to quilt and each of her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren have a quilt made by her.

Joann’s primary focus was her four children and she was very proud that all four have had healthy, happy, active lives, and strong marriages and families. They, in turn, appreciate the happy, fun childhoods she provided them.

Joann was born March 22, 1932, at Mason City Hospital (Coulee Dam) to Carlisle “Bill” Beery and Elizabeth Beery. Joann married Robert R. Paysse on March 21, 1952, in Coulee Dam, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her brother Richard Beery and her daughter-in-law Stacey Paysse.

She is survived by her sister Rosalie Scallan, daughter Debbie (Kevin) Long, son Bill Paysse, son Robert (Patricia) Paysse, and daughter Gail (Michael) Estabrook and 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Please join us in celebrating her life at a graveside service on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mount Hope, Washington at 11 a.m.
