Quincy teen injured in Whitman County
A Quincy teen was injured Saturday evening in a collision, about nine miles west of Colfax, when his motorcycle veered off the road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., Nathan J. Ortiz, 19, was driving west on state Route 26 in his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, struck an embankment and came to a stop in the westbound ditch.
Though Ortiz was wearing his helmet, was flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for injuries from the crash.
He was cited for wheels off roadway and not having a motorcycle endorsement. His motorcycle was totaled in the accident.
