Othello man arrested on murder after at least one body found in car

OTHELLO — An Othello man has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder after at least one body was discovered in a car near Othello Thursday morning.

Mauricio Nava-Garibay, 28, was booked into the Adams County Jail Thursday night, Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner wrote on a social media post, and other charges will be determined.

Nava-Garibay was arrested in connection with the discovery of a car with at least one body and possibly others inside in the 2200 block of Charla Road. Adams County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office has not yet released the number of victims or identified them due to the condition of the bodies, the press release said.
