Dustan Reid Knauss

Dustan Knauss of Moses Lake passed away on Jan. 8, 2021. Dustan was born in Seattle, Washington, to R. Reid and Clarice Knauss on Nov. 25, 1952. The family later relocated to Moses Lake where Dustan graduated high school in ’71. He attended Wenatchee Valley College before joining the Army. From 1972 to 1975 he was stationed in Germany. After returning he married the love of his life, Cathy Victor, on Dec. 24, 1976.

Dustan had worked as an insurance agent until 1999 when he took a job at the Employment Security Department until his retirement in 2010.

He was an avid sports fan. He coached Babe Ruth baseball from 1990 to 1997, leading them to state championships in ’93 and ’94. He also coached girls AAU basketball from 1998 to 2000. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

Dustan was preceded in death by his parents R. Reid and Clarice Knauss. He is survived by his wife Cathy Knauss; his daughters Kimberly Knauss and Kellie Bragg; his son Dustan R. Knauss II; his five grandsons Devon, Nicholas, Mason, Vinny and Davis; his brothers Cory and Rich Knauss; his sisters Stacie Matthews and Lexie Michaels; and his best friends Scott and Kelly Grigg.
