The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, January 6, 2021

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Stray flurries will fly across portions of the Great Lakes

and mid-Atlantic tomorrow as seasonably chilly air lingers.

The Southeastern states can expect a dry and pleasant day

ahead of a storm taking shape over the nation's midsection.

This storm is expected to bring a light accumulation of snow

to the eastern Dakotas, eastern Nebraska and western Iowa,

while rain dampens areas farther south from Kansas and

Missouri to eastern Texas. A few storms could rumble through

southeastern Texas and turn locally heavy and gusty. The

Pacific Northwest and Northern California will face another

dose of rain and mountain snow. Snow and slippery travel

will extend as far inland as northern Idaho and northwestern

Montana. Much of the rest of the West will be dry with some

sunshine.
