RELIGION

Pictures of the Month-Religion-Photo Gallery: The monthly photo gallery from AP photojournalists worldwide which captures moments in religion, spirituality and faith throughout November. UPCOMING Wednesday, photos.

HOMES

Crafts-Quilts: It’s January, there’s a pandemic and we’re home a lot. In other words, it’s a perfect time to make or snuggle under a quilt. Quilts also have become appreciated as wall art. By Kim Cook. UPCOMING Wednesday, 600 words, photos.

PETS

Dogs-New Breed: It’s called the Biewer terrier, and it’s been busy. The American Kennel Club announced Monday that the tiny, chipper Biewer — pronounced like “beaver” — became its 197th recognized breed. SENT Monday, photos.

HEALTH

Virus Outbreak-Viral Questions-Re-infection: If I’ve already had the coronavirus, can I get it again? It’s possible, but such cases seem to be rare. Evidence is growing that people whose bodies mounted a strong defense to the virus are unlikely to test positive again for at least several months and maybe longer. UPCOMING Tuesday, photos.

COMMUNITY

Virus Outbreak-One Good Thing-Community Fridges: It could have been a disaster when a community refrigerator used to feed the needy in a poor Miami community was stolen. Instead, it was a Christmas miracle, as people in the community banded together not only to replace the appliance but to buy extras and come up with enough money to give toys and other presents for 400 families. UPCOMING Tuesday, photos, video.

US Exchange-Community Pantry: On an early autumn morning, the whitewashed churches of Ajo are quiet, and the town square is still. The only sounds are dump trucks rumbling by, headed for border wall construction sites to the south. But inside the Ajo Farmers Market & Cafe, the atmosphere is buzzing. It’s just after 8 a.m. and the space already is filled with nearly a dozen workers and volunteers. The cafe used to house food incubator businesses, but those left early in the pandemic. Now, every spare surface is covered in food, ready to be given to families in need. By Katherine Sypher, Cronkite News. SENT Monday, 1,990 words, photos.

PERSONAL FINANCE

NerdWallet-Millennial Money-No-Spend Month: Holiday purchases lead many of us to start off the new year with less money, and more regret, than we desire. Following up this period with a no-spend month can be an effective way to reduce debt or simply free up more money for the future. SENT Tuesday, photo.

NerdWallet-Liz-Weston-2021-Money-Resolutions: Crossing a few financial tasks off your list first thing in 2021 can put you in a better position for the coming year, no matter what lies ahead. SENT Monday, photo.
