Fire scorches home under construction near Ephrata
A home under construction caught fire at about 2:30 a.m. Friday in the 10900 block of Dodson Road Northwest, near Ephrata.
Grant County Fire District 13 and the Ephrata Fire Department responded and no one was inside or injured.
“It was fully engulfed when we arrived,” said Jim Stucky, Grant County Fire District 13 fire chief. “The Ephrata Fire Department and us started suppression efforts right away.”
Six trucks arrived at the scene and were there for about three hours, Stucky said.
“Early morning, super cold, everything was freezing up on us,” Stucky said. “I don’t care to have to go out to those, but we did. That’s our job, and I think we did a great job on it.”
As the fire touched every part of the structure, nothing was salvaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Grant County fire marshal.
