Collision on state Route 17 snarls traffic more than an hour
MOSES LAKE — A three-car collision at state Route 17 and McConihe Road, just northwest of Moses Lake, blocked traffic for more than an hour Wednesday afternoon.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant, the collision happened at 1:47 p.m. when a 2016 silver Buick Envision SUV, driven by Linda Buchmann, of Soap Lake, made a northbound left turn onto state Route 17 from McConihe Road, after stopping at the intersection, and was struck by a northbound 2011 black Dodge Caliber on state Route 17, driven by Christian Weber, of Moses Lake.
Bryant said the Buick was also was struck by a southbound 2020 white Jeep Wrangler, driven by Guy Rutherford of Moses Lake, rolled several times, and came to rest on its roof.
Both Buchmann and Weber were taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, but neither was seriously injured, Bryant said. Rutherford was not transported.
Buchmann was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic, Bryant said. All vehicles were towed from the scene and the intersection was cleared at around 3 p.m., Bryant added.
