MLCA/CCS basketball teams each take 2 wins
It was an eventful week on the road for the Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School (MLCA/CCS) girls and boys basketball teams. Both teams took on and beat both Cascade Christian Academy and Wilson Creek High School.
The teams took on Cascade Christian Academy on Thursday in Wenatchee.
The MLCA/CCS girls slid right past Cascade Christian, taking the game 52-14.
The top three scorers for MLCA/CCS were juniors Kali Kast, with 18 points, McKenna Meise, who had 16 points, and Makiya Kast had 12 points.
In the boys game, MLCA/CCS beat Cascade Christian by more than 30 points. The final score was 68-22.
Top scorers for MLCA/CCS were senior Pierre Boorman, who had 24 points, junior Michael Podolyn, with 14 points, and junior Jeff Boorman, who had 11 points.
MLCA/CCS took on Wilson Creek High School on Saturday.
The MLCA/CCS Lady Lions had another runaway game, 60-15.
Forty-two of MLCA/CCS’s 60 points were evenly split by juniors Allison Stanley and Kali Kast.
The boys game, however, was a much closer match. MLCA/CCS beat Wilson Creek by only 11 points. The final score was 63-52.
MLCA/CCS’s top scorers for this game were senior Pierre Boorman, with 17 points, sophomore Jonah Robertson, with 10 points, and junior Michael Podolyn, with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams took on Waterville/Mansfield High School on Tuesday, but scores were not available by press time.
The teams were going to take on Wellpinit High School at home today, but Wellpinit was unable to make the trip. The boys and girls teams' games will be rescheduled.
