Gorden ‘Gordy’ Fellows

| December 22, 2021 1:00 AM

Our beloved dad, Gorden “Gordy” Fellows, passed away at his home in Warden, Washington, on Dec. 8, 2021, at the age of 87.

Born in Jefferson, Oregon, in 1933, to Oliver and Bertha Fellows, the family eventually moved to Chelan, Washington, where Gordy was raised and attended school. After graduation, he joined the military and became a proud Marine, attaining the rank of sergeant. He left the Marines in 1957 and started his career as a service technician with General Telephone and then Interwest Telecom. He married his wife Shirley in April 1965, raising their children in Kennewick, Washington, until his retirement in 1999, when they moved permanently to their home outside of Warden.

Gordy had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a silly “daddy” joke. One of his favorite things to do was to give the grandchildren rides on the riding lawn mower. He loved fishing and hunting and always looked forward to the annual deer hunting camp. He also was an avid bowler for many years and made many friends in the different leagues he was in. Gordy loved to watch football and hockey. He was a season ticket holder to the Tri-City Americans until he moved to Warden. He also was so happy to see the NHL come to Seattle and thrilled to attend a Seattle Kraken game. Another hobby Gordy enjoyed was his monthly paint nights. The ladies affectionately called him “Gorden Ross.” He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, always putting us first. We will miss him deeply.

Gordy is survived by his children Shelly (Garland) Huff, Michael (Danielle) Fellows and Michelle (Dave) Thrasher; grandchildren Justin, Jenee, Kristopher, Tyson, Robert, Katherine, Sean and Stevie; brothers Ernie (Edie) and Alvin Fellows, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; stepson Patrick Henry; parents Oliver and Bertha; brothers Don, Virgil, Rawlin and Vernon; and sisters Peg, Esther and Judith.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify friends and loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
