Five-car pileup causes injuries, road closure

MOSES LAKE — A five-car collision Thursday afternoon caused multiple injuries and closed Stratford Road across the Alder Street Fill in Moses Lake for several hours.

Moses Lake Police Department Chief Kevin Fuhr said Thursday night the collision was still under investigation and he didn’t have all of the information yet. However, he said the MLPD responded at about 3:45 p.m. to the scene on the fill. Several people likely were injured, he said, including a child.

MLPD officers closed the northbound and southbound lanes across the lake for about an hour, he said, but the southbound lanes were closed for several hours while emergency vehicles cleared the scene and traffic was rerouted.

Fuhr told the Herald he would have more information Friday.
