Experts from various organizations will give virtual updates on matters impacting Moses Lake — including housing issues, transportation, public safety, infrastructure and planning, educational and economic opportunities, health care needs, recreational expansion and more — in 12 videos based on outreach, such as a community survey and small group sessions with business leaders and residents, according to a release.

Moses Lake LEAD (Leadership Economy Advocacy Design), “a collaboration of community residents and business leaders with the goal of purposefully creating, planning, and building the Moses Lake of tomorrow,” according to its website, is behind the video series based on survey findings. The organization wants to make a strategic plan to “position Moses Lake as the best place to live, work and play in central Washington,” according to its website. The videos will be posted regularly on the organization’s website, moseslakelead.org, and its social media channels, with the first posted Tuesday.

“The goal of our efforts at Moses Lake LEAD is to define what the community collectively says will help enhance the quality of life here in Moses Lake,” said Theresa Sullivan, chair of Moses Lake LEAD, in the release. “Good work is already happening throughout our community on many of the key initiatives identified as part of our community outreach process. We want to provide the virtual updates as an opportunity to keep people informed.”

The videos are intended to highlight accomplishments, discuss remaining opportunities and challenges, provide information on next steps and define chances for the community to get involved, the release stated.

In spring 2022, Moses Lake LEAD plans to have an in-person community summit for people to prioritize future efforts businesses and residents can focus on to enhance the community’s quality, the release stated.
