Joe Donovan

Joe Donovan, longtime Moses Lake community member, passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. He was 83.

Joe was born in Texas in 1938, part of a family of eight children. He joined the U.S. Air Force, spent 18 months in the Azores and eventually was stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake. While stationed there he met Evelyn West, the love of his life. The two married five months after their first date and were married for more than 61 years.

Joe spent many years driving truck, including 27 years with Best Way Motor Freight, 15 years with Food Services of America and 15 years with Insta Stor.

Joe loved camping, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn; his son Dave (Sherry); his daughter Donna (Ron); his grandchildren Scott, Briana (Brent), Jessica (Jake) and Sean (Megan); and his great-grandchildren Carter and Eli.

His family wants to thank the Counsells, the Hirsts, Marian Spencer, Kathy and Dan Cruz, the Cragheads, Pastor Conrado and the United Methodist Church family, Dr. Julie Smith and her team at Confluence Health and the team at Assured Hospice for their support.

Graveside service will be on Sept. 11, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Guarding Angels Cemetery, located at 2595 Road L NE Moses Lake, Washington.
